What I love the most about thrift shopping is imagining the stories behind the clothing that lines the racks. Every silk scarf or pair of acid wash jeans has a had a unique and interesting life before landing in your hands. I always wonder who has worn the clothing prior to me and the places they've been while wearing it. I picked up this pearl clutch from Value Village on the weekend and it had definitely seen better days. Although still beautiful, it was stained and an overall 'old' feel exuded from it. I imagined, at one time, a beautiful woman carrying it at an event while wearing a silk dress. After that, it was probably put away in a box until being donated to Value Village. Now, I'm going to revamp it and give it a new life using my trusty can of fluorescent spray paint:
What You Need:
-A clutch that needs some updating
-Spray Paint
-Masking Tape
-Cardboard
What To Do:
1. Cover any metal clasps with tape
2. Place clutch on cardboard
3. Spray clutch in even strokes from
left to right
4. Let it dry, flip over and repeat
Try it out this weekend xx
