Fan Tan Alley

With the sun beginning to shine far longer than it used to, we took advantage of the particularly warm evening by searching for lost and hidden gems in the shops of Canada's oldest China Town. You can feel the history in the walls as you make your way down these narrow, dimly lit alley ways. Like any best friends, we enjoy lazy days when nothing particularly exciting happens, but this evening was filled with inside jokes, lovely thrift finds, laughter and exploration.

We found ourselves at one of our favourite little spots in down town Victoria, the Bubble Tea Place. Three years ago we tried bubble tea together for the first time and for decided it wasn't for either of us. We of course decided to give it a second chance and now love, crave and enjoy bubble tea whenever we can!

Taking our delicious tea with their eccentric names (flirtatious raspberry and nipple twister), we headed into Chinatown, one of the most popular streets in Victoria. The street is filled with old Chinese design, street markets, hidden alleyways and wandering people.

Victoria's Chinatown is the oldest Chinatown in Canada and the second oldest in North America, making it that much more interesting to have in our own backyard.

After spending a good amount of time window shopping, thrift shopping, chatting and walking the old brick alleys, we headed home..  or that's where we were supposed to be headed..

Getting sidetracked and making a short pit stop on the side of the road with the sun hitting it just right, we thought it would make for a great photo opportunity.

We want to thank everyone who has visited our site and a special thanks to all the followers. It means a lot to us.
Keep smiling and creating :)
Carly and Stacie
