DIY Studded Sweater

This past weekend I got the opportunity to go over to Vancouver and stay in the lovely Four Seasons Hotel. I have been seriously lacking on the DIYs lately so before we headed for the ferry I quickly threw together this DIY studded sweater for the trip. It's so simple to make and all you need is a few studs to breathe life back into an old sweater!  

I was in Vancouver to help babysit my little cousin, Parker, while his mom and grandma were at the Neil Young concert. 

We went out for dinner with my younger sister and decided we would take more photos of the sweater when we got back to the hotel. Unfortunately, that did not happen because on our walk back to the hotel, the skies opened and in a matter of minutes we were soaked head to toe.

Vintage YSL and Hunter Boots

I love living on the west coast of British Columbia. I love the trees, the fresh air, the rain. I truly don't think there is anywhere in the world quite like it. One of my favourite things to do is to get out of Victoria and go for an adventure in the surrounding forest. When exploring the woods, you just never know what you might find... like this broken down, old truck just sitting in the middle of the trees. Where did it come from?

I was browsing the racks at Value Village and laid eyes on this beautiful, vintage Yves Saint Laurent sweater and I just knew it had to be mine... Even if it was a men's size Medium. Paired with my denim cut offs and Hunter boots, I felt like I was walking around in a completely different era.

Leopard Print and Denim

If you already follow us on twitter, you'll know that I spent yesterday morning acting like a 5 year old... playing in the leaves. I just couldn't help myself! I absolutely adore this time of year; the golden hues, crunchy leaves under my feet and pulling out my autumn clothes from the abyss of my closet. I picked up these Nudie jeans from Still Life Boutique on Johnson Street last year and they are still one of my favourites! What brand of denim do you swear by?

Bath Tub of Memories

It’s amazing how one place can hold so many memories.

For me, this place is my grandma and grandpa's.

With over 15 acres of green forest to play in while growing up, my sisters, cousins and I

spent countless hours running around and creating trails, building forts and sharing laughs.

I was visiting the other day and thought I would take a walk through the moss covered trees I used to climb.

All Hallows' Eve

Here are a few photos shot on Halloween night. Each year I promise myself that I will plan and craft my costume weeks in advance, yet every year I end up haphazardly throwing something together a few hours before I go out. I picked up the loveliest French fur coat (faux, of course) from The Salvation Army recently and decided to make it the focal point of my costume. By the time I had pieced together my costume, I still wasn't quite sure what I was dressed up as.. 'Someone from the 1920's era' is the response I gave when asked. Store bought costumes are not something I will ever resort to and did the best I could with what was in my closet!
