A Day on the West Coast

the island secret

Some days are just meant for exploring. Yesterday morning I woke up to the sun streaming through my bedroom window and knew that it was going to be a day filled with adventure. Tossing my ‘to-do’ list out the window, I hopped in my car and let the road take me wherever it pleased. One of my favorite ways to spend a Sunday afternoon is to leave the city and head west to Jordan River; the home of the BEST fish + chips served from an old camping trailer. Jordan River is a surfing hotspot and we sat admiring the surfers and savouring our lunch. We then continued all the way out to Port Renfrew on the very west coast of Vancouver Island. It is home to nothing but the most rugged, beautiful west coast beaches. There is no cell phone reception, radio reception or shops. The perfect place to go and just clear your mind while watching the waves roll in. We stayed until sunset where they sky transformed into the most vibrant shades of violet and magenta, then we made the three hour drive back to Victoria with the freshest air filling our lungs

Vintage YSL and Hunter Boots

Victoria Fashion Blog

I love living on the west coast of British Columbia. I love the trees, the fresh air, the rain. I truly don't think there is anywhere in the world quite like it. One of my favourite things to do is to get out of Victoria and go for an adventure in the surrounding forest. When exploring the woods, you just never know what you might find... like this broken down, old truck just sitting in the middle of the trees. Where did it come from?

I was browsing the racks at Value Village and laid eyes on this beautiful, vintage Yves Saint Laurent sweater and I just knew it had to be mine... Even if it was a men's size Medium. Paired with my denim cut offs and Hunter boots, I felt like I was walking around in a completely different era.

Plaid in Autumn

It's days like today that I feel so lucky to live in Victoria. With the majority of Canada facing snow and temperatures below freezing, Vancouver Island is still a little tropical oasis with temperatures up around 13 degrees. Since returning from Europe, I haven't had the chance to do what I love doing most: sipping a soy latte on a Sunday morning while wandering through Victoria's local boutiques... Who needs H&M, XXI or Zara? Not Victoria!
I accomplished two monumental things today: First, I wore my leather leggings for the first time in broad daylight. Second, I bought the Converse sneakers that I've wanted since I could walk..
It was a good day

Hopefully everyone had a lovely weekend and partook in some Hallowe'en festivities!
Are there any other Victoria fashion bloggers out there? We would love to network with you! :)
