DIY Gold Studded Collar

I know by now you have probably seen a few dozen different
studded/sequin/lace collars, but besides that I still wanted to do one.
I came across this thrifted jean button up and decided that I would use this and my leftover
gold studs to do my very first gold studded collar.

I first started out by cutting the sleeves off.

I then started studding the collar. When I started I wasn't quite sure how many I wanted on the collar but every so often I went and tried it on too see what it looked like.

I ended up with seven rows of studs and absolutely love this DIY. It is for sure one of my favourites along with my DIY tassel skirt and DIY tye-dyed shorts.

Keep your eyes posted for my outfit including this wonderful DIY.

DIY Dyed Shorts

I have seen a few blog posts recently which have showcased a pair DIY dyed shorts that are three different colors all fading into each other. I decided that this was such a simple and fun DIY and after I found some white pants and different coloured dye I set to work.

What you need:
White shorts, capris/pants

Clothing dye
Spray bottles

First start by cutting you shorts, pants or capris into the length you want. I used a cheap pair of white pants that I found at a local thrift store.
After you get them to the length you want, soak the shorts thoroughly in water. Fill your spray bottles up with water and pour the dye into the spray bottles.
With the dye I bought I only used about 1/4 of the the package in the spray bottle so the dye wasn't too dark.

I first started with the yellow and spray about 3 inches from the top down.

I then did the pink,

And finished with the blue. I decided I wanted my shorts to look a bit faded so I only left the dye on for about 15 minutes and then put them through the washer (by themselves!) and then the dryer.

I loved the way these shorts turned out. It was so much fun to use the spray bottles to dye the shorts and I cannot wait to try again. There are so many different colors and so many possibilities and different things you can do with a white short.

Vintage Orange

Here is another outfit that I wore to work this week. Right now I love the combination of anything pale, beige and white. When I see an outfit together with these colours and tones it instantly makes me think of class.

Unfortunately I do not have a tan/white/cream blazer so instead of going with the traditional black work blazer I decided to spice this outfit up with my bright orange blazer.

I found this gem at value village and it fits me perfectly. I didn't think I could pull off this colour but I decided who cares? and went for it.
